Maiden Garaway in the Woods of Fae

Long ago and faraway there lived a Maiden Garaway.

The maiden she was fair to see, with hair of gold and eyes of green.

And the maiden went away in the woods of old, in the Woods of Fae.

And the sun, the rising sun, he led her way in the Woods of Fae.

But when the stars came out to play, it all turned dark in the Woods of Fae.

And the maiden fell into the dark of fear, the dark of fear.

But then she saw a light ahead, a shining face in the sky above.

And the moon, the Mother Moon, she led her way in the Woods of Fae.

And the moon she sang a song, a song of her eternal love.

And the fairies, out they came, to dance, to play in the Woods of Fae.

And the fairies formed a ring, they danced around the maiden fair.

And the maiden closed her eyes and as she danced her wings were born.

And the fairies, out they cried – Oh Fairy Queen! Oh Fairy Queen!

And of a magic moon glow thread, they wove a crown for her to wear.

And to this day they sing her song, the song of Maiden Garaway.
